Alloys are modified to adjust the metal’s casting properties such as increased strength, enhanced corrosion resistance, increased wear resistance and improved thermal conductivity. Modification is often made to increase the quality of manufacturing and also to reduce the price of alloy relative to standard compositions.

The Aluminum alloys can be adjusted by changing the percentages of alloying elements according to its purpose of application.
